Switzerland’s two grand dames: the Engadin’s sun and Olympic history versus the Matterhorn’s glacier and year-round skiing. Both are premium, both are iconic, and both cost CHF 200+ a day.
The original winter resort — sun, snow and the Cresta Run.

Terrain
Very similar piste counts but different characters. Zermatt is 580 m higher, has year-round glacier skiing and links to Italy. St Moritz has the Engadin’s famous sun, the best cross-country in the Alps, and a broader cultural programme (Cresta Run, White Turf, polo on the lake).
